How Creative are you.. REALLY?

Philly Creative 360 has been nice enough to compile a list of the 2010 Creative Ambassadors. This makes me wonder if you will be on 2011's list? Check out the winners and use it as motivation. The 69% hate. The rest of us learn something from those that have achieved greatness.

There's no place like home

For some people, their biggest fear is having their home broken into. No one ever, ever, ever, thinks that their home will be demolished. Let's just say there is a man in Pittsburgh who no longer has a home that can be broken into.

Andre Hall who was in the process of reclaiming a foreclosed property, came home to a vacant lot. Turns out that his problem is more common than you think.

Check out this draw dropping article from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

DATING: You can pick your NOSE and pick your MATE

People speak of commitment issues pretty often. Especially in reference to males. I must admit that I have been accused of being afraid to commit and of being “picky” due to my lack of motivation to start a relationship. I’ll also admit that some people might actually have commitment issues but I’m here to speak on the behalf of those who don’t have problems with commitment. Instead we have a problem with settling and high standards.

Having standards is completely understandable and it’s expected. They are used as a guideline to find a compatible mate.

Many people confuse having standards with being picky when actually there is a huge difference between the two. Being picky involves having realistic and unlikely expectations; asking and expecting something that you yourself cannot even offer. But, the confusion about what makes a person picky leads people to settle for someone who isn’t what they really want because they don’t want to seem as if they are being picky; this results in an unhealthy and unsatisfying relationship. Recently, I found myself in a situation where I considered settling because I felt as though I was asking for too much. I’d been inconsistently involved with a young woman for about a year and a half. I decided maybe it was time for me to make it official and try to be exclusive. A problem soon occurred: I started to remember the negative things about her that kept me from moving forward with her. At first I thought it was cold feet since it had been a while since I have been exclusive with someone. The possibility of being afraid of commitment ran through my mind. Eventually I came to the conclusion that what was holding me back was my inability to settle. What I was doing with this girl was using my brain more than my heart. I thought because she had beauty, intelligence, a sense of humor, an attraction to me and could interact well with my family that I had hit the jackpot. I soon realized that those traits are what I should look for in EVERY female I meet. I also tried to look past her flaws because she was always willing to look past mine. I had to be honest with myself and acknowledge that I couldn’t bring myself to do that. I was not willing to lower my standards. I was attempting to create something that didn’t exist.People may say I am picky for not making things serious with this young woman, but I feel as though the cons out weighed the pros. Settling is something I highly oppose in situations like this one. In today’s world the majority of people feel the need to jump into relationship and settle for what they can get without being aware of what they are worth. By doing this, their standards “bar” is lowered, while mine stays the same, resulting in my standards seeming high. For the people who have lowered their standards to something not suitable for them, I suggest you raise them. For those comfortable with their standards but still waiting for the “right one” to come along, just continue to live life and realize that he or she will come along soon enough.

I asked the other members of 31 percent when an appropriate time to make things official, be exclusive and actually settle down. The Contrarian told me it’s like buying a pair of sneakers (keep in my mind I am not a “sneaker head” by any means). He explained that if I were to see a pair of sneakers that I thought I needed in my life, I’d put them on the counter, purchase them no matter what the price, and walk out the store a happy man without a doubt in my mind. He went on to explain that you can always return a pair of sneakers without much fuss. However, after making a commitment to a mate, you can’t just return their love and you can’t put a price on the heart ache that come from a breakup.

Yours truly,

Cornbread

The Cleveland Cavaliers Sign…A Homeless Man?

Although the Cavs couldn’t sign LeBron James this past off-season, they were lucky enough to nab one of the most talented citizens of Cleveland who could use a break. Last week Ted Williams was a homeless man lending his booming voice drivers passing by a highway exit. Thanks to his YouTube video that has over 6 million views in three days, he is now the arena announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers!!

It’s not just a saying. You really can’t judge a book buy its cover. Check out Ted Williams' highly sought after talent.

The Price is Wrong, Bitch

You cant go wrong with high fashion right? Wrong...so wrong. As much as I love Louis Vuitton and Lanvin, some of their stuff is just ugly. Just like any designer from Nike to Ralph Lauren, not all of their clothes and shoes are nice. Sometimes people feel like just because it has some red & green Gucci stripes or a red bottom that it is hot, but that's not always the case. I'm a firm believer in the idea that you can find something nice from a thrift store to a 5th Avenue high-end store and everything in between. So just because someone may have spent a lot of money on it does not make it a good thing. You should always keep in mind the thought "If it didn't say Hermès, would I buy it?"

If i want a clunky shoe with a strap I would just take it back to 2000 and buy some Nike Air Force 1's, not pay $625 for these Louis Vuitton's

As I was typing this I stopped to think of a reason a man would need to wear rain boots...30 minutes went by and I came up with nothing. There is no reason for a man to ever wear these and if there is, $295 for Gucci rain boots is silly.

$910 Dior Homme. Really though? These thick behind soles. Cut it out and just talk to a shorter chick.

Save the Animals...and your money. $1200 Louboutin's.

#Manlaw: These are for girls...Point. Blank. Period.

Piss on Week 1.4.10

Warning!! No one in the following blog post is actually being pissed on. It is simply an expression meant to describe how outrageous and unforgivable the actions of the following people really are. Anyone who finds this segment offensive has the right and the duty to be pissed on as well.

Sincerely,

Professional Rationalist

10. Soulja Boy

So apparently Soulja Boy wrote “Whip My Hair” for Willow Smith and he wants his props.

He gets pissed on for not realizing why people don’t consider him a lyricist when he’s writing songs for nine year-old girls.

9. Brett Favre

Really Brett!! You were just sexually harassing everyone? Two massage therapists are suing Favre because they lost their jobs with the Jets after reporting inappropriate texts from Favre.

He gets pissed on for asking for a happy ending in the training room.

8. Alexander Pirone and Catherine McGrath

When most people show their love for one another in Church they do it with marriage. This couple decided to bend the rules a bit and show up to a midnight Christmas mass drunk as a skunk. To add to the melee they were fondling each other in their seats.

Pissed on for bringing the honeymoon to the chapel.

7. Tucker Carlson

This Fox analyst strongly suggested that Michael Vick should have been executed for his role in dog fighting. He gets the business for worrying about Michael Vick when people who murder humans get out early on good behavior.

6. Skillz

Since 2002, rapper Skillz has provided us with a lyrical wrap up of the year’s events which releases on New Year’s Eve. This years treat came a few days late and didn’t drop until January 3rd. I know you are thinking it’s only three days!! But if we let it slide we may not get next years rap up until Martin Luther King Day…Pissed On!

5. “Beliebers”

The headlines are swirling that 16 year-old Justin Bieber has himself a cougar in 18 year-old actress Selena Gomez. Too bad his fans aren’t happy about it. Ms. Gomez has been receiving threatening tweets since pictures of the two have surfaced.

Bieber fans get the business for not letting the boy have some fun.

4. Ja Rule
Rule is planning on dropping an album before beginning a two year jail sentence. He gets the business for thinking that he is relevant to anyone other than people who have been in jail since 1999.

3. Gatorade

I went to buy a Gatorade for my workout the other day and apparently there is one to replenish electrolytes, another to quench thirst and another that..well I’m not sure what it does but it costs more.

I’m pissing the line and giving Gatorade the business for making one of the simplest decisions in my life very difficult.

2. Club Fights

I can never understand it. You are at the club with friends and very attractive women..and you decide to start a fight because someone bumped you?!? I’m pissing on anyone who is worried about the guy grilling them across the bar as opposed to the lady that’s checking you out.

1. “Are You 18?”

You ever accidentally/on purpose stumble across an explicit adult website saved in your favorites? Why in the hell do they ask are you over the age of 18? They get pissed on for thinking that any 16 year-old, who lied to his mom and said he’s playing Madden when he really looking at Booty Talk Vol. 75, is going to click No.

Music: Drake's Best He Ever Had

I must admit. I wasn't much of Drake fan in 2010. I missed out on his initial wave and caught what his core fan would call the commercial or pop wave. Over time, his debut album, Thank me later, grew on me. With a few standout guest appearances at the end of 2010 on songs by Bun B, Rihanna, Jaime Foxx, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and J.Cole, Drake gradually won me over. He captured my attention so much that I was expecting Drake to own the rap game in 2011 as he married his back pack roots and pop fanbase.

Complex magazine did a great job of compiling a list of Drake's hottest versus in 2010.
